Job description

Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Working in a small and friendly office of transport planners and
civil/infrastructure engineers, flexibility to carry out a range of tasks will be
required. Tasks varied to also include public realm and flood risk
assessments. Candidates will also have an eye for detail with good presentation
and communication skills and the ability to work in a close-knit team and
deal with clients and lead team members.
The role will involve both the management and overseeing of the design and
delivery of highway and drainage schemes for wide range of clients and
schemes, from concept through to completion, including preparation of
detailed engineering design submissions for Section 38/278 and Section
104/106/185 Agreement schemes, using AutoCAD, PDS/XP3d Site and
Micro Drainage across a range of major and minor highways projects.
Knowledge and experience of contract documentation including conditions of
contract, specifications, methods of measurement, bills of quantities and
contract administration would be beneficial.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a working knowledge and experience in
highways design and general civil engineering projects, with reference to
appropriate design software (PDS or XP3D site or equivalent / AutoCAD /
Micro Drainage and standards (DMRB / Highway Authority Design
Guidance). Also preferable knowledge of preparing flood risk assessments
for planning applications (although training for this can be given dependant
on applicants previous related experience of above)
Report writing skills will be essential, in providing input toward planning
applications in support of Planning team and Flood Risk Assessment /
Drainage Strategy.
The role will suit someone with an inquiring mind and a desire to learn new
skills. The company operate an informal structure (can consider 2 days working from
home to be discussed), and successful employees are promoted on merit
rather than when positions become available.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK holding relevant passports or
work permits. A full driving licence would also be favourable but not essential.
