Borehamwood, Hertfordshire (Hybrid - up to 3 days remote working)
Salary: £47,294 - £59,112 (+ £1,000 annual retention payment)
Job type: Permanent, Full-time (36 hours per week)
The Opportunity
Carrington West is delighted to be partnering with Hertsmere Borough Council in the search for a Senior Estates Surveyor. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive and ambitious local authority with a clear vision for enhancing the quality of life across the borough.
Hertsmere is a unique council, home to the world-famous Elstree Studios and situated just outside North London. The borough combines extensive greenbelt countryside with excellent transport links into London and the wider Home Counties.
This is a chance to take on a key leadership role in the Estates team, influencing the future of the council's property portfolio while enjoying the benefits of a supportive, flexible working environment.
The Role
As Senior Estates Surveyor, you will:
·Lead and manage a small but busy Estates team.
·Oversee all aspects of estate management, including acquisitions, disposals, landlord and tenant functions, valuations, and development appraisals.
·Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the council's non-operational properties.
·Provide expert professional advice to Council Members and Officers.
·Act as deputy for the Property Services & Asset Manager, offering scope for career progression.
About You
We are looking for a self-motivated and technically strong Estates professional who can make an immediate impact. You will have:
·UK Resident
·MRICS status with extensive experience in estate management and valuations.
·Proven people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a small team.
·Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels.
·A proactive, solution-focused approach, with the ability to manage your own workload effectively.
