Job description

Are you a rail engineering manager with extensive experience of rail systems?

Are you looking to work client side and be involved with HS2?

This role will be supporting HS2 form a client side, who are currently looking for a senior engineering manager and also an engineering manager lead.

Location: Birmingham

Salary: Lead Engineering Manager - £65,000 - £100,000
Senior Engineering manager - £60,000 - £80,000

For the lead position you will be managing a team of 6 senior engineering managers and be leading a high performing integrated team. It requires sound people management and leadership skills.

Both roles will be working route wide, so willingness at times to travel are essential to the various main contractor sites.

The candidates must have multi disciplinary large complex rail experience within rail systems.
My client already has civil engineering managers so now needs people with rail systems experience: PWAY, OLE, E&P, M&E, OLE, Signalling and Telecoms. Need good knowledge of system integration - need to challenge and ask right questions.

This role would suit the following job titles: Designated Project Engineer, CEM, CRE and Engineering Manager.

High speed experience would be good from either a UK or overseas perspective.  Working under CDM as principal designer - so previous experience and evidence of carrying out this in practice across projects is a must.

This will be operating a client environment so previous client side experience would be good, having the mindset of doing assurance of the works rather then deliverables.

Candidate skills:
Needs to be a good facilitator, collaborative working, be persuasive, have strong influencing skills  and have excellent stakeholder management. Will be working with technical experts and making things happen. Must have excellent communication skills and be a strong presenter.

Chartership is a must.
