Senior Electrical Engineer - EICA
Location: Manchester
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum + benefits


Join a leading delivery partner within the UK water sector who are looking to strengthen its delivery capability with the appointment of a Senior Electrical Engineer (EICA) across United Utilities, based in Manchester.


Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for managing the design, construction, commissioning, and handover of EICA packages, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, to specification, on programme, and within budget, while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities


·Supporting the Project Manager in the delivery of EICA works across water and wastewater projects.
·Managing and updating construction programmes, ensuring key milestones are achieved.
·Arranging, chairing, and participating in collaborative planning and design liaison meetings.
·Preparing and issuing invitations to tender, evaluating responses, and producing cost-benefit analyses with recommendations.
·Preparing and circulating requisitions to buyers and supporting procurement activities.
·Coordinating technical input between MWH engineering teams and supply chain partners.
·Providing day-to-day management of site teams, ensuring issues are resolved or escalated appropriately.
·Reviewing consolidated invoices, identifying errors or omissions prior to payment approval.
·Challenging stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation, improved working practices, and reduced safety or commercial risk.
·Managing and maintaining the project risk register, providing monthly updates and supporting early warnings.
·Attending Health & Safety, progress, employee forum, and coordination meetings as required.
·Working with Project Management, Health & Safety, Design, and Construction teams to report near misses, unsafe conditions, and incidents.
·Preparing pre-start packs and managing the collation and upload of project documentation to internal systems.
·Working closely with the Project Quantity Surveyor to develop cost plans, manage commitments, and monitor project outturn costs, supporting mitigation strategies.
·Championing design liaison meetings and coordinated EICA design development.
·Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including CDM 2015, and company procedures at all times.

Essential experience & qualifications


·Proven project management experience within an engineering or construction environment.
·Experience delivering projects under NEC3 forms of contract.
·Degree or equivalent qualification in an electrical, EICA, or construction-related discipline.
·Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and regulations, including CDM 2015.
·Experience delivering engineering projects within regulated environments.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and end users.
·Delivery-driven mindset, with experience setting, monitoring, and achieving project targets and programmes.

Desirable


·Chartered or working toward chartership with a recognised professional institution.
·Water industry experience (non-infrastructure).
·Experience using Primavera P6.
·APMP or equivalent qualification.
