Are you an experienced structural Building Surveyor looking for a long term contract?
 
You will be required to sort out surveys and inspections, and also be able to do simple calculations with the possibility of extending your knowledge towards more technical calculations.
 
The skills needed would be:
 
·Simple calculation knowledge in the form of Steelwork beams, masonry load bearing checks, foundation checks/design including GBP checks.
·Knowledge of simple loading transfer and load paths within building structures to allow for assessment of existing modifications to building structures.
·Some AutoCAD  knowledge, but be able to sketch/draw general arrangement drawings, engineering connections where needed, and also sketches relating to any form of steelwork, concrete, timber and masonry to a limited degree.
·Some experience with software (tedds/sand etc) but can be given training/support.
·General engineering knowledge (read drawings etc) and also have knowledge of Health and safety.
·Doesn't have a problem with visiting sites in Derby with your own transport.
·Possibly working towards IEng status.
 
This role is full time and can be worked from home however you are expected to be required to carry out inspections when needed.
