Salary range: £42,888 to £45,105
Hours: 36 Hours per week
Holiday entitlement: 28 days per annum
Based: Civic Offices / Flexible Working
 
As they move into the next phase of planning for their medium-term capital programme, a vacancy has arisen for a Senior Building Surveyor in the Asset Operations Team.  The postholder will provide expert technical support and professional advice in all building maintenance and surveying services and will also manage all major repairs, regeneration works and maintenance within a portfolio of properties ensuring the Council meets its statutory obligations and that the highest standards and good conduct are always maintained.

Working closely with colleagues across Housing, Communities and Qualis, the role will bring about change and improvements to service delivery within finite resources and take collective responsibility for ensuring excellent services are provided.
 
Health and Safety is key, and the post holder will drive the evolution and positioning of the Building Safety Case through proactive management of information ensuring compliance with all the relevant legislation as well as working with other parts of EFDC and customer groups to ensure they are delivering what the customer needs. 
 
As part of a team of Surveyors you will embrace the new agile way of working, and you will be someone who enjoys being a team player. Good IT and communication skills are essential as is a confident and flexible approach and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
