Job description
Are you a contract Section Engineer looking for work in AMP8?
This is a chance to join a an established contractor delivering a major AMP8 wastewater upgrade for Thames Water, focused on modernising ageing treatment assets and improving long-term performance, resilience, and regulatory compliance.
This site-based role will be working on a significant wastewater scheme upgrading legacy infrastructure to meet modern environmental standards and future demand.
You'll be working on a full-time basis at a sewage treatment works in Hertfordshire, supporting the engineering and technical delivery of civils and process-led works as part of a wider AMP8 programme.
The project offers strong programme certainty, a collaborative site team, and immediate workload, offering an initial 6 months contract, with likely extensions available.
As Section Engineer, you'll act as the eyes and ears on site, reporting into the Site Agent and supporting day-to-day delivery.
Your role will include:
·Setting out and surveying
·Managing site records, QA, and H&S documentation
·Supporting and guiding trainee and graduate engineers
·Feeding into site management and daily reporting
·Ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and to programme
This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who enjoys being embedded on site and close to delivery.
Role details
·£400-£450 per day (Umbrella PAYE only - CIS not permitted)
·6-month contract | ASAP start
·7:30am - 5:30pm | Full-time, site-based in Hertfordshire
·Drug & alcohol testing required
Requirements
·Experience as a Section Engineer/ Site Engineer in wastewater or heavy civils
·Thames Water Safety Passport
·CSCS White or Black card
·CAT & Genny (preferred - can be completed once started)
·SMSTS preferred
