Section Engineer - Ashton-under-Lyne

Location: Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester
Job Type: Full-time, Contract


We are currently seeking a talented Section Engineer to join a reputable organisation based in Ashton-under-Lyne. This role will be pivotal in overseeing and supporting engineering activities on site, ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.


Key Responsibilities:


·Manage and coordinate on-site engineering activities, ensuring work is carried out in line with design, specifications, and regulations.
·Supervise the work of contractors, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with safety standards.
·Liaise with the project manager and other stakeholders to ensure projects are on track and within budget.
·Ensure that work is completed on time and to the highest standard of quality.
·Oversee temporary works, including the coordination and supervision of safe systems of work on-site.


Essential Experience:


·Previous experience as a Section/Senior Engineer on major civil engineering projects.
·Strong background in reinforced concrete structures, ideally with hands-on experience in bored piling and/or sheet piling.
·Experience in the coordination or supervision of temporary works on-site.
·Knowledge and experience of utilities diversions, and breaking ground activities.
·Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work well within a team.
·Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
·Site-based experience with a strong focus on safety and quality.


Desirable Skills:


·Previous experience working on large infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
·Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
·Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
