Job description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Rough Sleeping Services Pathway Manager to join the Housing and Homelessness team at a North East London council. This vital role will oversee the delivery of our accommodation pathway for vulnerable adults who are rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness.
Working across three hostel sites, you will ensure that services run efficiently, fairly, and to the highest standards. You will lead on managing referrals and placements, assessing needs and ensuring individuals are matched to the most appropriate accommodation and support. You will also provide strong leadership to staff, promoting a culture of high-quality, person-centred care for residents with complex needs, including mental health issues, substance misuse, and dual diagnosis.
You will identify barriers that prevent people from moving through the accommodation pathway and work with partners - including the council's Rough Sleeping Accommodation Commissioning team and Housing Options service - to find practical, lasting solutions. Safeguarding, case management, and move-on planning will be central to your role, as will ensuring consistent delivery of the council's "single service offer" across all hostels.
The successful candidate will have proven experience managing homelessness or supported housing services, excellent organisational and communication skills, and a compassionate, solution-focused approach. Flexibility is essential, as occasional evening, weekend, and emergency cover (such as during SWEP activations) may be required.
