My client is a fast-growing ISP with huge opportunities for skilled and experienced quantity surveyors with a background in construction and utilities. The successful applicant will have experience with NEC contracts and reporting back to their project manager, whilst ensuring the highest quality work.
 
The Quantity Surveyor will have responsibility for all aspects of quantity surveying for FTTH projects, providing support to the Project Manager on all commercial aspects of the projects, using NEC contracts.  
 
The successful candidate will work a hybrid of working in the office based in Braintree Essex, working on site in and around Essex and home working, ensuring that they are best placed for each day, due to this being within a commutable distance of Braintree is essential as is having a full driving license. There is flexibility in the position to allow for more senior or junior quantity surveyors to work to their abilities.
 
Responsible For:
·Provide commercial support to on-site Project Manager
·Provide commercial support regarding the authorisation and submission of project variations
·Assessing, reviewing and mitigating contractual risks
·Provide commercial performance data to Head of Commercial
·Provide procurement support to Head of Commercial
·Prepare/review all contract communications, notifications and replies in line with contract timescales
·Budget monitoring and producing contract/workstream performance data
·Produce weekly & monthly reports (CVR, EOL & Internal reporting)
 
Skills, Experience & Knowledge Required:
·Worked on utility projects in UK (Fibre optic preferred)
·NEC 3 Contract Administration experience (essential)
·Compiled, reviewed & agreed Compensation Events (essential)
·Site based working (essential)
·RICS Preferred (preferred not essential)
·HND/BSc Quantity Surveying (preferred not essential)
·Experience & understanding of NEC Contracts & their administration
·Experience & understanding of CEMAR
·Good knowledge of MS Excel to interpret and collate commercial data
·Presentation and report writing skills
·Commercial Management (Budget & Risk)
·Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and develop relationships
