Quantity Surveyor - Spalding
 
 
Carrington West are currently representing an industry leading principal contractor in the Highways and Infrastructure sector, who are now looking to strengthen their team with an additional Quantity Surveyor in the Spalding area.
 
Offering multi-disciplined services to include major civil engineering, new-build footway, cycleway/carriageway construction, town centre and other public realm improvements, CCTV design, line marking, street lighting and drainage, they work in collaboration with their clients, designers and other contractors, and continue to receive recognition and awards for successful delivery.
 
 
The Role:
 
To support the division to achieve its Business Plan by providing effective commercial and contractual advice, support, forecasting and monitoring to project teams in which you are embedded.
 
 
Key Tasks and responsibilities:

·Responsible for providing support to the project Area Project Surveyor and Site Managers with regard to the individual scheme commercial results and forecasts. This includes dealing with the commercial reporting on live schemes to ensure that forecast and historic information is robust and accurate.
·Responsible for assisting with the improvement in revenue, margin and REC across the whole division by delivering effectively when allocated to specific project teams.
·Responsible for working to, as far as is reasonably achievable, all divisional and group process in relation to commercial functions on site.
·Must routinely report to the Area Project Surveyor, on weekly, monthly and otherwise as requested basis, a set of agreed indicator metrics demonstrating compliance with applicable commercial process, commercial and contractual position to date, a complete forecast and any commercial or contractual risk areas.
·Must routinely report to the Area Project Surveyor, on at least a monthly basis, details of all high risk or high opportunity issues on all live sites.
·Must undertake to assess, prepare, demonstrate and achieve approval in accordance with divisional process, management rules, the Delegation of Authority, the specific contract in which the company is engaged and any other locally enforced regulations for all contract change assessments.
·Must undertake to assess, prepare, demonstrate and achieve approval in accordance with divisional process, management rules, the Delegation of Authority, the specific contract in which the company is engaged and any other locally enforced regulations for all subcontract payments including, but not limited to, interim assessments, final accounts, change assessments and contractual compliance.
·Must undertake to prepare subcontract documentation and procure subcontract packages as defined by the local management system.
·Must undertake to assess, prepare, demonstrate and achieve approval in accordance with divisional process, management rules, the Delegation of Authority, the specific contract in which the company is engaged and any other locally enforced regulations for all Applications for Payment and any subsequent demonstration / substantiation required therein
·Must routinely produce other reports about the commercial performance of live and recently completed sites as and when requested by the Are Project Surveyor in a format which is understandable and clear for all.
·Must provide User Training for staff in the use of Aconex and any other divisional commercial or contractual management systems.
·Must represent the company at meetings with internal and external bodies; specifically other divisions within, our clients, subcontractors, other contractors and industry bodies as and when reasonably instructed to do so.
·Must continually work with Site Managers to ensure site records are maintained in the required standard.
·Must continually seek out opportunity for commercial improvement in the short, medium and long term delivery of projects when appointed to work on them.
·Must always act fully in support of the Area Project Surveyor and local senior management.
·Should assist reasonably in the continued development of this role to provide betterment to the division.
 

Salary on offer is £42,000 per annum.
