Have you got 3 or more years experience as a Quantity Surveyor working within the Highways Sector?


We require you to be an experienced Quantity Surveyor with experience and background covering Highways projects and schemes.


Duties & Responsibilities:
1.Cost Estimation: Quantity surveyors estimate the costs involved in the construction process, including materials, labor, and other expenses.
2.Budgeting: They help in developing and managing project budgets, ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints.
3.Procurement: Quantity surveyors assist in the procurement process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
4.Cost Control: Throughout the construction process, quantity surveyors monitor costs and work to keep projects within budget. They identify areas where costs can be reduced or where additional expenses may arise.
5.Risk Management: Quantity surveyors assess and manage risks related to costs, helping to minimize financial uncertainties during the construction project.
6.Valuation of Work: They assess the value of work done on construction sites and issue payment certificates to contractors accordingly.
7.Contract Administration: Quantity surveyors are involved in the administration of construction contracts, ensuring that all parties adhere to the agreed-upon terms and conditions.
8.Final Account: At the conclusion of a project, quantity surveyors prepare the final account, summarizing all costs and variations that occurred during the construction process.
9.Dispute Resolution: In the event of disputes or claims, quantity surveyors may be involved in resolving issues related to costs and contractual agreements.
10.Client Communication: Quantity surveyors often communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to keep them informed about cost-related matters.
 
This is a long term contracting role with a major highways business, with the potential for a permanent role too.
