Location: London, UK (with regional travel)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager / Senior Project Manager to join our growing team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of major Energy and Utilities infrastructure projects across London and the wider region.
Working closely with the Project Director and a range of stakeholders, you'll ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. A strong background in NRSWA environments and experience delivering large infrastructure projects in and around the public highway is essential.
This role is ideal for someone with solid early-career project management experience who is looking to advance their career and gain exposure to large-scale transport and infrastructure programmes.
Key Responsibilities
·Support the Project Director across all phases of the project lifecycle - from planning and execution to monitoring and closeout.
·Manage relationships with clients, contractors, local authorities, and internal teams.
·Prepare and maintain project documentation including plans, risk registers, and progress reports.
·Monitor project budgets and support financial tracking and reporting.
·Coordinate project programmes and timelines, identifying and mitigating delivery risks.
·Assist with procurement processes and ensure compliance with company and legal standards.
·Ensure quality control, health and safety, and environmental compliance throughout all project stages.
·Contribute to tenders, reports, and client presentations as required.
 
Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
·Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Energy, or a related discipline.
·Professional certifications such as PRINCE2, APM PFQ, CHPP, or ICE qualification (or working towards) are desirable.
·Support will be provided for APM membership.
Experience:
·Proven project management experience in the Utilities, Energy, or Infrastructure Construction sectors.
·Knowledge of PRINCE2, APM, or similar project management methodologies.
·Familiarity with NEC4 contract management and regulated utilities environments (Gas, Fibre, Water, Power).
·Experience within energy transmission is preferred; water, renewables, or utilities experience desirable.
Technical Skills:
·Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project (or similar tools).
·Experience with programme development (MSP or Primavera P6).
·Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
Soft Skills:
·Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
·Strong organisational ability and attention to detail.
·Proactive problem-solving approach with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
 
Desirable Attributes
·Experience managing multiple small projects or supporting large, complex infrastructure programmes.
·Understanding of UCR and regulated utility funding release processes.
·Familiarity with UK safety, health, and environmental regulations in the infrastructure sector.
·A strong desire to develop and progress within project management.
Travel
This role offers a hybrid working model, combining office-based work in London, client site visits, and remote working. Candidates must be willing and able to travel across the UK as required for project delivery.
