Project Engineer (Airports)
Location: Stansted Airport (3 days per week onsite)
Engagement Type: Inside IR35
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 40 hours/week
Rate: Market standard - negotiable
Vetting: CTC (Airport Airside) - process can begin during interview
About the Role
Our client is looking for two experienced Project Engineers to join their team delivering the high-profile Stansted Transformation Programme. This long-term assignment offers a unique opportunity to work on complex infrastructure upgrades within a live airport environment, involving civil engineering, building works, M&E systems, and airfield pavements. You'll play a key role in planning, design coordination, and delivery oversight of multidisciplinary packages, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
·Support end-to-end delivery of engineering packages across civils, buildings, M&E, and airfield pavements
·Act as the technical lead on assigned packages, ensuring alignment with regulations, standards, and airport operational procedures
·Liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to drive timely, cost-effective outcomes
·Review design documents, method statements, and risk assessments
·Monitor construction progress to ensure quality, safety, and environmental compliance
·Support procurement, contract management, and change control activities
·Assist with testing, commissioning, and handover of assets
·Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to regular reporting and governance
What We're Looking For
·Chartered Engineer (ICE) or working towards chartered status
·Civil and Mechanical Engineering qualifications, including structures
·Proven experience delivering complex infrastructure projects in live operational environments (aviation experience desirable)
·Strong technical knowledge, with the ability to coordinate across disciplines and manage multiple stakeholders
·Excellent communication and documentation skills
