Role: Products Sales Engineer  
Location: Hampshire/remote   
Salary: up to £35,000 - £45,000 p/a plus package
 
Carrington West are pleased to announce an exciting new role with our client who are a water, wastewater and pump specialist who operate across the UK. They're looking for an experienced Sales Engineer to join the sales and business development of their thriving range of products to the regulated UK water companies.
 
The successful candidate will have responsibility for a number of product lines and/or key accounts, including driving sales performance, account management, forecasting, reporting and administration duties. Products will include for scraper bridges, chemical dosing systems and a range of other fabricated products and third-party mechanical technologies. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing and dynamic business.
 
The role would suit a proven sales professional, ideally with a background in the water sector. Experience in the development and management of new business in mechanical wastewater treatment solutions would be a bonus. You will need to be self-motivated, a good communicator and willing to work in a small business environment.
 
This role can be home-based, office-based or hybrid working, but the individual will be linked to one of their offices in Hampshire, Norfolk, Staffordshire, or Glasgow.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
 
·Establish and develop strong relationships with key customer contacts.
·Filter and prioritise opportunities to suit resource availability and company appetite to bid.
·Timely preparation of quotations in line with customer's expectations.
·Contribute to pre-qualification submissions when required.
·Liaising with the estimating team to ensure quotations are correct, accurate and competitive, and reflect customer expectations, specifications and outcomes.
·Provide support to the Sales Manager and other Sales Engineers as required.
·Build and maintain strong multi-level customer relationships.
·Be in touch with customers' reality and the pressures, issues and concerns that drive their behaviours.
·Act as the contact for the accounts owned and provide market data and competition analysis.
·Use creative business development techniques to keep the brand ahead of the competition.
·Develop an in-depth product and brand knowledge.
·Lead the development of enhanced pricing systems and more intelligent proposals generation for greater consistency.
·Aim to delight our customers with innovative and flexible thinking, first-class presentation and going the extra mile.
·Maintaining a record of sales development and progress on the company's IFS system.
·Regular reporting of sales progression and assist with forecasting of opportunities, prospects and orders to enable stable business planning.
·Resolve issues with customers as they might arise using tact, responding quickly and appropriately., involving the Sales Manager and others as needed.
·Assist/co-ordinate the negotiation of commercial terms.
·Conduct project handover meetings to the contracts teams.
·Attendance at monthly Business Development meetings.
·Visits to client sites and offices and attendance at client and industry events.
 
 
Key Skills & Experience:
 
·Engineering or science degree, HND or equivalent.
·Minimum two years of postgraduate experience in a business development, sales or customer management role within the water sector and/or M&E engineering environment.
·Demonstrate customer focus and an understanding of the importance of relationships.
·Show drive, resilience, teamworking and a willingness to take responsibility to deliver results.
·Proficient MS Office skills.
·Report writing skills.
·Good communication skills, able to interact effectively with Clients and colleagues.
·Organisational skills with a commitment to the role and a keen eye for detail.
·Willingness to travel nationwide (including overnight stays)
