Job description

Our client are a large Defence & Nuclear Consultancy, working closely with some of the big operators of Nuclear energy and working on defence contracts. They have an excellent reputation for assisting staff on growing their knowledge and being a high level performer for their clients.
 
Are you a highly experience Power Systems Engineer, who wants to make a difference to the UK's defence? This could be the role for you.
 
The full time hours for the role are 35 hours per week. 2 days on site and flexitime avaliable. Overtime is paid.
 
As the Principle Power Systems Engineer, you will be a leading member of the team, offering technical support, coaching and mentoring across the team. Being the go to expert alongside the manager of the team. Working on power distribution system networks on an IDNO for very important critical facilities and naval vessels.
 
You will take on design requirements for the following:
·Replacement of electrical equipment and / or components abd assisting with documentation for modifications
·Designing maintenance documents and drawings
·Undertake asset condition surveys
·Sign off on parts to use for changes
·Create designs on AutoCAD
·Mentor and check all the above by junior members of staff.
 
Please note the role is for Sole Nationals and you must have or be able to gain Security Clearance (check before applying if unsure on what this is)
 
Experience required:
·An understanding of engineering principles of Electrical Power Systems & how they are designed
·Expert experience in fault finding for electrical systems
·Expert knowledge of electrical power systems legislation, regulations and standards
·Experience in Coaching, mentoring and leading
·Electrical power systems expert subject knowledge
·Expert experience in producing technical drawings and DocumentationWorking knowledge of engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETAP & Amtech (Desirable)
 
Qualifications required:
·A minimum of an engineering degree such as Electrical/Electronic Engineering
·Professional registration (Desirable)
