Principal Infrastructure Engineer  
 
Job Purpose:  
A Principal Infrastructure Engineer is required to take a lead on delivering a range of Development Infrastructure projects and the technical tasks within them.  You will take responsibility for some client management on projects, developing the product and managing resources.  You will report to the senior management team (SMT) and are responsible for financial management of projects.      
 
Responsible to:  
The SMT, Project Directors and key account managers.     
 
Responsible for:
Maintaining delivery of a high quality service to clients through the delivery of product and services.  Developing their skills and those of the project resource.  Managing workload and inputs to projects and assigned tasks so they are delivered on time and to budget.  Maintaining and developing client relationships alongside others.  Generating some business development opportunities.  
 
Key Tasks:  
·Manage team resource on projects 
·Plan, manage and deliver projects 
·Manage aspects of project finances alongside Project Managers and Directors  
·Making good quality, timely decisions in a project context 
·Apply problem solving to client and project issues 
·Able to deal with change in the needs, challenges and environment of the job 
·Planning and implementation of project goals 
·Client management on projects alongside Project Managers and Directors 
·Commercial and financial management of projects through setting budgets, monitoring and managing  Applying innovative approaches to work and managing staff 
·Keeping up to date on industry developments including technical, policy and commercial themes  Identifying and taking advantage of opportunities to enhance the business and its products  
·Promoting team work 
·Effective communication through transmitting information well using a range of methods 
·Encouraging training and development of staff 
·Share knowledge and intelligence within the business
