Job description
Electrical Maintenance Technician
Location: Dartford, Kent
Contract: Permanent
Sector: Highways & Tunnels Infrastructure
We are recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Technician to work on a long-term, high-profile highways infrastructure contract supporting the Dartford River Crossing and M25 Tunnels. With 15 years remaining on the project, this role offers excellent job security, varied work, and strong career development opportunities.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the maintenance, fault finding, and repair of critical electrical and safety systems across tunnels and associated infrastructure.
Key duties include:
·Planned maintenance and fault repairs on switchgear, transformers, pumps, fans, VSDs, lighting, and control systems
·Maintenance of tunnel and traffic safety systems (signals, sensors, barriers)
·Electrical fault finding using drawings and schematics
·Attending breakdowns and emergency incidents
·Working safely in line with strict Health & Safety procedures
·Supporting a Zero Harm safety culture
Essential Requirements
·18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
·Proven electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience
·Commercial or industrial electrical background
·Ability to work independently and as part of a team

·HV Authorised Person
·MEWPs / IPAF
·Confined Spaces
·C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing
·CSCS Card
·PASMA / Working at Height
·G39 (DNO Equipment)
