Job Role - Principal Engineer (Highly Regulated)

Location - Preston (3 days at office 2 from home)

Contract Length - 12 Months

Pay Rates - £500 a day OUTSIDE IR35

I'm looking to speak with principal engineers who come from a highly regulated background (nuclear preferred) and can step into a technically responsible principal engineering position.

The ideal candidate will have experiences in AutoCAD, panel design, instrumentation, safety systems and power distribution. They will also have held the position of principal engineer that takes care of design and technical capabilities.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be accountable for the technical management and delivery within time, cost and quality
  • Maintain technical compliance with the contract and resolve technical conflicts where possible
  • Ensure cross-discipline integration
  • Reviewing progress and the critical path
  • Manage Scheme design deliverables
  • Produce of manufacturing documentation
  • Provide support in achieving developmental goals
  • Ongoing assessment of engineering processes and procedures to identify and implement improvements
  • Implementation of continual improvement initiatives
  • Take  reasonable  care for own health and safety and the health and safety of others
  • Promote compliance with both client and statutory requirements

Key Skills/Qualifications/Competencies:

  • Degree / HND / Higher Apprenticeship in a related discipline
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng)
  • Has been accountable for a variety of diverse projects or activities ranging in both size and complexity
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • A high level of technical knowledge and understanding of the industry
  • A proven record of technically leading teams, shaping the outcome of projects and assisting others in the delivery of projects
  • Expected to be proficient in the production of standard design deliverables
  • Expected to be an experienced user of relevant design tools, techniques and methods
  • Expected to be fully conversant with legislation and regulations applicable to their role and the projects they are working on.
