Job description
To assist in the coordination and delivery of planned and reactive works programmes from initial planning through to completion and performance review. This includes applying effective scheduling, cost control, health and safety compliance, and collaborative working practices while operating within a multidisciplinary operational environment.
The main duties of the Planning Coordinator is:
- To promote and embed company values within the planning team, ensuring appropriate measures are implemented to uphold standards and drive performance.
- To produce detailed works handovers for planned activities and schedule works to gang devices, ensuring jobs are planned right first time and delivered efficiently.
- To batch works within the Confirm system, coordinate material orders (including specialist materials), and assess plant and resource requirements to support effective delivery.
- To support the Team Leader through regular reporting, undertaking risk assessments, safety checks, toolbox talks, audits, and reviewing daily productivity targets to ensure budgets are effectively managed.
The Planning Coordinator needs:
- Demonstrable experience in works planning and coordination within a highways, utilities, or infrastructure environment.
- Strong organisational and programme management capability, with experience managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence liaising across operational teams and external partners.
This role requires an office presence 5 days per week.
