Location: Doncaster
Duration: 5 months +
Rate: £14 per hour - Umbrella or PAYE
Start Date: ASAP
My client is looking for experienced Platers/Welders to join their busy team in Doncaster.
Working mostly with low carbon steel, using the MAG and Sub-Arc welding processes -  The over-riding responsibility of a Plater / Welder is to repair, manufacture or modify plant and equipment to the required standard, as directed by the Fabrication Shop supervision and to fabricate and weld structural steel to detailed engineering drawings and WPS's.
Responsibilities include:
·Manufacture, modify or repair to a technical drawing, sample or instruction
·Progress the work / job on a routine basis, from initial inspection to final inspection, in line with the requirements stipulated by the Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC)
·Identify materials and tools as required for the job, ensuring continuity of the work
·Ensure estimated timed jobs and deadlines are met - this may involve extra working hours
·Ensure that any daily / weekly equipment checks are carried out when required and reported and documented accordingly
·Maintain good housekeeping standards in the workplace at all times
·Pass on your skills and knowledge to your colleagues
·Maintain good communication at all times with your supervisors, RWC and colleagues
·Report to the supervision about any training needs
Skills and Experience:
·Required: City and Guilds / NVQ or equivalent in Welding and Fabrication; experience in manufacturing, modifying or repairing plant and equipment to a technical drawing, sample or instruction
·Desired: Coded welder qualification; fork lift truck operator
·CSCS card
·Environmental awareness
·Manual handling
·Ability to read technical drawings
