Salary: £50,000 to £60,000
Package: London weighting (commuting costs paid for), private healthcare, 28 days annual leave, 5% pension
Location: London, 2 to 3 days in the office per week, remainder from home.

An SME consultancy known for its excellence in planning and commercial support is seeking a Planner to join their London-based team. The firm specialises in delivering high-quality services across major infrastructure projects, including HS2. With a reputation for providing expert advice on NEC contracts, change management, and forensic delay analysis, the consultancy is a trusted partner to leading contractors and subcontractors.

Essential Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of planning experience within main contractor or subcontractor environments, focusing on heavy civil infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6; familiarity with MS Project is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts, particularly concerning change management and compensation events.
  • Experience with forensic delay analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage detailed project programmes using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  • Conduct forensic delay analyses and assess compensation events in accordance with NEC contract provisions.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to provide insights on change management and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Engage with clients to review subcontractor programmes, offering recommendations on acceptance and identifying potential issues.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate planning insights to stakeholders.

The selection process includes an initial interview (either face-to-face or via Teams), followed by a second-stage interview to assess technical competencies and cultural fit.
