Job description

Site-Experienced Planner
Civil Engineering Projects
South East (Kent & Sussex)
Up to £60,000 plus benefits

Are you an experienced Planner with a solid background on-site? Or maybe you're a Senior Engineer or Sub Agent looking to make the move into a full-time Planner role?
We're working with a leading civil engineering contractor with a strong pipeline of work across Kent and Sussex. They're looking to bring in a talented Planner who can blend their hands-on site knowledge with programming and contractual expertise.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, forward-thinking business where you'll genuinely have the chance to shape how programmes are developed, managed, and delivered, while adding real value to the project teams out on site.

What the Planner role involves:
As a Planner, you'll act as the technical bridge between site teams and the wider management group, helping to identify and resolve engineering challenges while ensuring that programmes are current, accurate, and aligned with NEC contract requirements.

You'll:
·Carry out monthly forensic reviews of project programmes, ensuring all change is accurately captured and documented.
·Regularly update and submit project programmes to meet contractual timelines.
·Review two-weekly lookaheads and site records for notices and communications.
·Work alongside the site team to support entitlement and change capture.
·Help prepare and communicate EOT claims and contribute to the project risk/opportunity register.
·Advise on planning, programming, and construction methodologies as the go-to Planner on site.
·Attend sites across Kent and Sussex, working from either site or the regional office.

What we're looking for:
·A background in civil engineering (either from site engineering or site management).
·Experience with MS Project, Asta Powerproject, or Primavera P6.
·Proven ability to manage NEC contract programmes.
·Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset - you'll be working closely with Contracts Managers and site leads.
·A full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.

What's in it for you?
·Company car or car allowance
·Life assurance (4x annual salary)
·Pension scheme with up to 8% matched
·25 days holiday + bank holidays (with the option to buy more)
·Training and development programmes
·EAP and benefits platform
·A company culture that values growth and support, especially for up-and-coming Planners

Whether you're already in a Planner role or you're ready to evolve your career into one, this is the kind of position that offers both challenge and real progression.
