Job description

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in London in the search for a Place Shaping Officer to join their team on an initial 3 month contract, then rolling.
 
We are looking for a highly motivated person with strong stakeholder engagement and project management skills who will champion place shaping development activity across the borough creating quality places for people to live, work, and play. In particular, the post will develop and implement high street action plans and town centre frameworks, working closely with the borough BIDs and other Business Forums to support economic recovery and promote the diverse needs and aspirations of communities within the borough. You will also lead on engagement activities, as well as cultural, business, and creative place making projects to drive footfall and 15-minute neighbourhood initiatives.
 
Role duties
·To  lead on the  delivery of  a range of place shaping initiatives and schemes across the borough.
·To coordinate a vision for high streets as experience destinations and community hubs.
·To develop and implement high street action plans and town centre frameworks.
·To  engage, develop and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
·Office/Site presence needed.
·This post is offered on a hybrid basis.
 
To apply for this role, the successful candidates must have good knowledge and understanding of place shaping development activity. You will need to have excellent communication and negotiation skills as you will be working in a team environment, as well as dealing with other professionals. We are looking for a motivated self-starter with a can-do attitude.
 
It would be beneficial to hold a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as urban planning, architecture, or geography. Experience of working in a similar role, ideally within a local authority context. Strong project management skills, with experience of delivering complex projects on time and within budget
 
The council are looking for candidates who will be able to hit the ground running as soon as possible and are offering flexible working arrangements.
 
Carrington West Pay Rate  £30per/hour (Depending on experience)
