Job description

My client are an independent specialist project support consultancy with particular expertise in consents and authorisations, programme and commercial management, strategy, stakeholder engagement and consultation.
 
The team have an exciting new opportunity for a P6 Planner to join the Commercial and Programme Management team. The company are a member of the Programme Management Partner, of an Alliance framework with National Highways and you will be involved with planning the programme to completion.  
You will become part of a growing high performing and highly regarded group who support their clients in delivering complex infrastructure projects.
 
Your role will involve assuring, building and servicing contract programmes, managing collaborative planning to ensure that the delivery teams achieve the programme.
Communication skills and good planning and programming skills are a must for you to succeed.  These roles will test you and develop you while understanding how the team work in preparation for the large more complex schemes in the future which will provide you with career progression and increased responsibility.
 
Planner - Job Description
 
You will develop, manage and maintain the master schedule delivery programme for in-year and future year programmes.
 
·Support the Senior Planner to compile and maintain the master view of yearly scheme schedules and delivery plans, supporting the 'one programme' vision.
·To proactively challenge project plans and identify opportunities to optimise the combining of works as part of collaboration initiatives or efficiency opportunities.
·To maintain and update the scheme progress on a regular basis with consistent use of project controls.
·To provide programme status and variance reports including those to fully support internal month end and year end reporting
·Support the Senior Planner in the provision of key programme information including forecast/actual dates and outputs.
·To ensure compliance with all processes and procedures, minimising non-conformances.
 
You will:
 
·Be experienced in project and programme management methodology and techniques.
·Have understanding of planning theory; critical path analysis, linking, float, re-scheduling, maintaining and tracking base-lines, etc.
·Have good understanding and application of collaborative planning techniques.
·Have excellent stakeholder management
·Be self-motivated individual with excellent analytical skills
·Have an inquisitive mind with the confidence to check and challenge
