Position: Operations Manager
Durham
 
Salary: £70,000-£80,000
 
Role Overview:
 
We are in search of a proactive, organized, and commercially astute individual with excellent interpersonal skills to assume the role of Operations Manager. This position requires the ability to collaborate effectively both internally and with multiple external clients within a fast-growing and successful company. The ideal candidate should be forward-thinking, capable of adapting to the pace of change and project demands, while ensuring precise, safe, and cost-effective processes are adhered to for the successful project delivery.
 
As Operations Manager, you will primarily oversee operations based at our Newton Aycliffe Depot. You will serve as a crucial bridge between internal departments like transport, health and safety, quality and environment, as well as a key point of contact for our clients. Your role will involve supervising the successful execution of various projects, championing best practices and maintaining high standards.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Managing Regional Resource programs
Oversight of Health, Safety, and Quality Monitoring, conducting Toolbox Talks and Site Safety Audits
Collaborating with the commercial team to handle budgets, forecasting, profit and loss
Supporting Contracts Managers and Supervisors in their scheme deliveries
Reporting progress and concerns to the Operations Director, encompassing Safety, Workload, Plant & Resource requirements, and HR topics
Participating in client meetings
Coordinating with lead ops/supervisors for progress updates and resource input into the Program
Assisting with recruitment processes
Line Manager responsibilities including Appraisals, Pay Reviews, Confidential Discussions, Team development, Disciplinaries, and Interviews
Managing on-site change to ensure contract adherence
Handling RAMS and Health & Safety documentation, ensuring the implementation of H&S procedures from RAMS on site
Managing material orders with the Procurement team and organizing site deliveries
Assisting the Transport Manager in implementing company policies in line with Transport & O'Licence requirements
Developing and supporting efficiency and planning for the Newton Aycliffe Depot and designated teams
Adhering to company health and safety policies

Essential Experience/Qualifications:
 
Substantial operational experience in a similar role
Demonstrated ability to manage projects to completion and handover
Proficiency in developing programs
Understanding and interpretation of construction drawings
Ability to respond effectively and calmly under pressure
SMSTS certification
Full clean driving license for the UK
Strong IT skills
Right to work in the UK
 
Desirable Experience/Qualifications:
 
Previous involvement in street lighting, traffic signs, or technology projects
Project Management qualification
Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera.
Good understanding of Commercial acumen under the NEC Contract.
