Job description

My client a main contractor working on a Thames Water contract have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Technician to join their Quality Assurance Team.   You will be part of a proactive team who are responsible for quality and compliance on construction works and defects processes.
 
The ideal candidate would need to have experience within Water or Utilities sectors.
 
You will be starting on a contract basis with a view for the role to become more permanent paying £10 per hour PAYE.
 
You will be responsible for the registration, generation, and administration of all completed works.  Ensuring all work is recorded in terms of measurements, material type and accurately plotting on a internal mapping system.
 
 
Responsibilities
 
·Identifying Streetworks defects, recording and follow through on works being successfully completed.
·Completing Streetworks registrations in a timely manner and in line with NRSWA and preventing Fixed Penalty Notices due to late or incorrect registrations.
·Keep up to date accurately all quality records and spreadsheets.
·Support with customer complaints and escalations as and when requested.
·Minimise all Streetworks fines by supporting supervisors and operatives to reduce and eliminate occupation (S74's), compliant permitting and noticing (permit conditions, etc.).
 
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
 
·Streetworks/utilities experience would be preferable
·Basic knowledge of the Specification of the reinstatement of openings in highways (SROH).
·Proven IT skills particularly MS Word, MS excel
·Experience using notice management systems ; however, training will be provided.
·Preferably, you will have a basic knowledge of the Specification of the reinstatement of openings in highways (SROH).
