I'm supporting a leading engineering firm to recruit a permanent Design Manager to play a critical role in overseeing RIBA Stages 3–5 for complex infrastructure projects. This isn’t a technical design role — they’re not looking for a Design Engineer, but someone with strong design assurance capability and hands-on delivery experience.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership, helping shape and embed robust design assurance processes.

Experience Required:

• 3+ years in Design Management or Project Management with a design/assurance bias
• Proven understanding of design assurance, verification, and early-stage design processes
• Demonstrable experience with RIBA Stages 3–5 essential (GRIP or PACE a plus)
• Tier 1 contractor background.
• Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
• A member of or working towards professional registration (EngTech, IEng, or CEng)
• Familiar with Primavera P6, BIM/CAD, Aconex, and Power BI
• Strong grasp of CDM, BREEAM, British Standards, and BG6
