Role: Mechanical Foreman (Working)
Location: East Kilbride
Salary: up to £45,000 p/a plus package
 
A leading contractor on the Scottish Water authorities' frameworks across the UK is seeking to bolster and strengthen their Site team with a Mechanical Foreman (Working) to be based on sites across Scotland, but mainly around the central belt.
 
Position Overview:
 
As the Mechanical Working Foreman, you will play a crucial role in managing the team of tradesmen and subcontractors on-site and within the facility. You will serve as the primary point of contact between the project manager and the trades, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include full involvement of piping installation projects, mechanical equipment installation and repair work. Understanding risk assessments, ensuring compliance with various health and safety regulations, and coordinating lifting duties.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
·Manage and lead a team of tradesmen, providing guidance, direction, and practical support throughout the project.
·Act as the intermediary between the project manager and the trades, communicating project requirements, timelines, and expectations effectively.
·Coordinate subcontractors on-site when applicable, ensuring that work is completed in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
·Oversee piping installation projects, including layout, assembly, and installation of piping systems within the water industry.
·Understand provided risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
·Demonstrate a thorough understanding of health and safety regulations, including confined space access procedures, LOLER and ensure compliance at all times.
·Coordinate lifting duties, including the operation of lifting equipment and ensuring adherence to lifting procedures and regulations.
 
 
 
Qualifications and Experience:
 
·Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve project objectives.
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with project managers, tradesmen, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
·Sound knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and health and safety regulations, with a commitment to ensuring compliance and promoting a safety-first culture.
·Experience working in confined spaces and implementing confined space access procedures.
·Familiarity with lifting duties and the operation of lifting equipment. LOLER
