Senior Licensed Bat Ecologist
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and highly competent ecologist preferably with a Level 2 bat licence, to join their team in Bakewell, Derbyshire.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ecology and conservation, with a particular focus on bat species to complement their current team of licensed bat ecologists and tree climbers. Our client also has one registered consultant able to use the Bat Mitigation Class Licence; any experience in mitigation licensing that you have would be an advantage.
Work will not be limited to only bats, unless that is your preference; the role will present a range of opportunities in various fields.
Responsibilities of the role:
Design and implement bat conservation strategies and management plans.
Prepare technical reports and other written documentation for clients and regulatory agencies.
Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current research and techniques in bat ecology and conservation.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ecology, Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
A valid license to handle and survey bats.
At least 3 years of professional experience working as an ecologist.
Experience with environmental assessment and monitoring projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
