Job description

Role: LEV Engineer
Duration: 3 Months +
Location: Yeovil
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £15.38 PAYE or £18.46 Umbrella
Hours: 40 hour week - Monday to Friday
 
My client is looking for a LEV Engineer to join their team where they will be able to provide complete LEV inspection and testing, including any interim and retests as required, on all extraction systems on the site in accordance with HSG258 and COSHH
 
Responsibilities include:
·To assist with preparation of procedures, method statements, risk assessments and COSHH assessments for LEV test/inspections.
·To ensure that the inspection and test of the LEVs is undertaken according to the above procedures and assessments, and compliant to HSG 258 standards and COSHH, including visual examination, measurement of technical and asset performance and assessment of system control effectiveness.
·Ensure all activities undertaken are completed safely and where required appropriate PPE/RPE is used.
·Ensure all waste is disposed of via correct routes as per site protocols and procedures
·Develop or manage an asset register and ensure all associated asset tests/inspections are completed according to schedules agreed between Veolia and LHUK
·Produce reports that clearly show all results from the inspection/test of LEVs, highlighting any failure and faults, along, where possible, with recommended remedial actions
·Communicate with multiple stakeholders, such as 'responsible persons', building managers, equipment users, general workers and immediately report any LEV failures to local LHUK personnel, along with LHUK HSE, Sodexo/Veolia Management
·Add labels to LEVs on completion of successful or unsuccessful inspection and tests
·Assist with problem solving on LEV problems, including basic servicing such as filter changes etc.
·Ensure all equipment used for above activities is maintained in good condition and where needed is routinely calibrated.
·Produce reports in accordance with client format.
·Create schematics of systems being inspected and tested
·Take photographs of systems, especially to show faults or failure points
 
Skills and Experience:
·Qualified to BOHS P601
·Experience working on LEV systems, primarily Inspection and Test
·Understanding of air flows and pressures
·Understand and experience of fume and scrubber systems
·Risk assessment and reviews
·Report writing, use of Excel/Word (and Google equivalents)
·Full UK driving licence
