Junior Estimator

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
 
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Civil Engineering Estimator to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to kick-start their career in the field of civil engineering estimation and gain valuable experience in a supportive and collaborative environment.
 
Responsibilities:
· 
·Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to analyse project requirements, specifications, and drawings.
·Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects, including earthwork, utilities, concrete, paving, and structural components.
·Research and gather data on labor, materials, and equipment costs to ensure accuracy in estimating project expenses.
·Prepare and submit detailed proposals, bids, and tender documents within specified deadlines.
·Collaborate with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
·Assist in evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotes, ensuring compliance with project requirements and budgetary constraints.
·Contribute to value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs without compromising quality or safety.
·Monitor project changes and update estimates accordingly.
·Maintain organized records of estimation documentation, including drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
 
Requirements:
·Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
·Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to perform accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimations.
·Proficiency in using estimation software and tools.
·Solid understanding of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and materials.
·Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
·Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
·Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
·Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
·Previous internship or entry-level experience in civil engineering estimation is a plus.
