Are you an experienced Head of Service, Assistant Director or Director looking for your next challenge?
 
Our client is an ambitious authority who are seeking an experienced Assistant Director with a strong background in highway maintenance and management, along with streetworks.

Key Responsibilities:
 
·To lead on the development of evidence-led policy and practice across on Highway and Street Works matters.
·To be responsible for the effective financial management of the Highway Management Group budgets both revenue and capital.
·To lead on the development of contract management across the department for driving better outcomes
·To undertake role of the Traffic Manager as required by the Traffic Management Act 2004.
·Lead on Highway Assets including specialist areas such as Climate Change delivery, EV charging, Green Infrastructure, Climate Adaptation.
 
 
What is required?
 
·Managing performance: Proven ability to manage for results with a proven track record of service delivery in a high-performance environment.
·Leadership and motivation: Ability to lead and motivate diverse groups of staff to achieve high levels of performance with good attendance.
·Problem-solving: Ability to anticipate, analyse situations and identify problem areas along with the capacity and the drive to propose and drive through workable solutions.
