Exciting Opportunity for an Infrastructure Project Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Officer - Infrastructure to join a dynamic local authority team supporting the delivery of high-impact infrastructure projects. This role offers flexible hybrid working, combining remote work with on-site and office-based collaboration where required.
This key position involves supporting the management of infrastructure-related projects-ranging from buildings to systems-ensuring they are delivered to the highest standards of quality, timeliness, and compliance. The successful candidate will be involved in planning, stakeholder coordination, data analysis, and process improvement across a varied project portfolio. This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated project professional looking to apply their skills in a meaningful and supportive public sector environment.
The main duties of the Infrastructure Project Officer are:
·Assist in the day-to-day management of infrastructure-related projects to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
·Support project planning, performance tracking, and risk management within a formal project framework
·Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth project delivery
·Maintain documentation libraries, prepare reports, and contribute to performance presentations
·Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement, system enhancements, and service development
·Support continuous service improvement initiatives across a wide range of infrastructure programmes
·Keep project risk registers and help resolve delivery issues proactively
·Contribute to health and safety compliance, policy adherence, and reporting obligations
·Stay informed on local and national developments to align projects with emerging needs
The Infrastructure Project Officer will have key experience in:
·Working in a structured project management environment, ideally within a public sector or infrastructure context
·Applying recognised project management methodologies to support project delivery
·Advising and negotiating with a range of stakeholders, including management teams and external clients
·Creating clear, informative documentation and presentation materials to support project tracking and communication
·Analysing and presenting data to improve project insights and drive results
·Balancing workloads, prioritising effectively, and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
·Understanding of local authority services, governance, and the operational challenges facing local government
·Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with project performance systems
