Job description

Infrastructure - Technician/Design Engineer
Working in a small and friendly office of transport planners and engineers,
flexibility to carry out a range of tasks will be required. Candidates will also have an
eye for detail with good presentation and communication skills and the ability
to work in a close-knit team.
The role will involve the support of detailed design and delivery of highway
and drainage schemes for wide range of clients and schemes, from concept
through to completion, including preparation of detailed engineering design
submissions for Section 38/278 and Section 104/S106/185 Agreement
schemes, using AutoCAD, PDS, XP site 3D modelling and Micro Drainage
across a range of major and minor highways projects.
Knowledge and experience of contract documentation including conditions of
contract, specifications, methods of measurement, bills of quantities and
contract administration would be beneficial - but not essential at this stage a
training will be given.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a working knowledge and experience in
highways design and general civil engineering projects, with reference to
appropriate design software (PDS XP site 3D modelling or similar/ AutoCAD
/ Micro Drainage) and standards (DMRB / Highway Authority
Design/drainage design guidance).
Report writing skills will be an additional benefit, in providing supportive input
toward Flood Risk Assessment / Drainage Strategy reports in support of
planning applications.
