ICA Engineer - Operational Technology  
Location: Preston
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 p/a plus package
 
A leading UK M&E Contractor are currently recruiting for a ICA Engineer for their Operational Technology team based in the North West.
 
The candidate should be qualified to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate engineering subject with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role with sound theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of instrumentation, control and automation.
 
You should have a background of team based project work, with involvement from conceptual design stage to the commissioning and handover stage, with an appreciation of electrical and instrumentation engineering elements of construction projects in the Water Industry and familiarity with UK Water Industry processes, practices and standards.
 
The role will include supporting the delivery of AMP 7 projects in liaison with Design, Delivery M&E and planning teams with focus on customer requirements.
 
Your area of expertise will be in the application; configuration and commissioning of PLC, HMI, SCADA, Telemetry and systems and you will be expected to have a proven practical and theoretical knowledge of instrumentation, telemetry and motor control systems:
 
The candidate should be proactive and motivated and able to work well in an established team environment and possess the technical competence as described generally below: -
 
-             Able to define field instrumentation requirements.
 
-             Proficient in the design of process and instrumentation diagrams.
 
-             development of a URS to produce original conceptual and detailed design solutions for process control schemes.
 
-             Knowledge of open and bespoke communication networks, wireless networks, data transport systems and network architecture topology. This would ideally include Profibus and Profinet Fieldbus
 
-             In depth knowledge of Siemens S7-300, S7-400 and S7-1500 programmable logic controllers, with direct experience of specifying, programming, troubleshooting and commissioning programmable logic controllers for industrial process control applications.
 
-             A detailed working knowledge of Siemens WinCC SCADA and Siemens Comfort Panel HMIs.
 
-             Understand principles of remote access and control of SCADA and HMI using 'Web Enabling' hardware and software. 
 
-             Have a good working knowledge with hardwired analogue and digital control systems.
 
-             Provide expert technical advice and support to Electrical Project Engineers delivery solutions, this will include support answering TQ's
 
-             Provide the resources for the replacement and interface of legacy control equipment.
 
-             Produce enquiry scopes for System Integrators, liaising with procurement and Design teams   
 
-             Experience building budgets including been able to identify both risks and opportunities
 
-             Provide information and expertise to support the clients framework system integrators and  Design Teams
 
The position is offer a salary of up to £55,000 p/a with car or car allowances package.
