Job description

A long-term contract opportunity has arisen for a Highway Technician to join our client's design offices, to provide AutoCAD and Civils 3D design elements to agreed standards, programs, and budgets on various highway design contracts, predominantly highways related.
 
This is a 6-12 month contract initially, offering remote work. You will only be required to travel to the Basingstoke office 1 day per week. This position falls inside IR35.
 
The role


·Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of planned tasks to ensure that projects are delivered on time and budget.
·Ensuring priorities are understood and workload is manageable through clear and regular communication with the wider team.
·Raising all SHE related findings with the project teams to ensure appropriate control.
·Supporting relationships through documenting of information, findings and decisions and production of high-quality documents and drawings.
·Recognising deviation from scope and communicating to the project team.
·Providing specialist advice around the practicalities of Civils 3D modelling and drawings within AutoCAD, including improved efficiency.
·Ensuring drawing production meets current standards and employs best practice.
·Practicing self-awareness and analysing own performance to proactively drive personal development. Includes seeking and giving constructive feedback as well as completing all mandatory and agreed training.
·Undertake projects tasks in accordance with the cost estimate and programme ensuring completion to a high standard.
·Provide high quality and well-structured drawings, in accordance with BIM standards, which convey the clear, concise, and relevant information.
·Maintain clear records of incoming and issued data including version control and transmittal notes as well as contributing to decision and risk registers.
·Undertaking self-check of all work.
·Contributing to design reports and other supporting documents relating to design, safety, or environment.
·Undertake accurate and effective progress reporting as well as providing specialist support in meeting and presentations.
·Attend and contribute to relevant project related or team meetings including taking minutes.
·Supporting project management through updating project records including activity completion, progress, risks, decisions, and earned value as well as providing personal weekly status reports covering progress, planned activities and problems.
 
Qualifications/Development
 
·AutoCAD/Civils 3D Qualification.
·Higher National Certificate (HNC) in industry relevant subject or equivalent experience.
·EngTech member accreditation - Recommended / Working towards.
