Senior Planner - Major Highways Framework | Liverpool | Up to £75,000
You will be stepping into a senior, influential Senior Planner position on a long-term highways framework delivering visible, city-wide improvements. This Senior Planner role offers stability, variety and the chance to work on a flagship programme that is already transforming Liverpool's roads, streets and public spaces.

A framework you'll be proud to support

You will be working with my client, a leading contractor appointed to Liverpool City Council's Highways Planned Works Framework. The framework runs for four years and is designed to accelerate delivery across resurfacing, active travel, bridge and signal schemes. With a strong regional presence and a secure pipeline of work, my client is known for investing in people and delivering complex highways schemes efficiently and safely.

What you will be doing day to day

As a Senior Planner, you will be a key part of the delivery team, working closely with site and commercial functions. Your responsibilities will include:
· You will be developing, managing and maintaining detailed construction programmes for multiple highways schemes
· You will be working closely with site teams to understand methodology, sequencing and constraints
· You will be spending time on site, ensuring programmes reflect live construction activity
· You will be producing progress updates, lookahead programmes and programme change analysis
· You will be identifying programme risks and supporting mitigation strategies
· You will be contributing to pre-construction and tender planning where required

What you'll need to bring

To succeed in this Senior Planner role, you will ideally have:
· Proven experience as a Senior Planner or Planner within highways or civil engineering
· Strong site-based experience on live construction projects
· Experience using Primavera P6 or similar planning software
· Knowledge of highways works such as resurfacing, structures, active travel and traffic management
· Confidence communicating with site teams, clients and stakeholders

Salary and benefits
· Salary up to £75,000 per annum, dependent on experience
· Long-term stability through a four-year highways framework
· Exposure to projects above and below £1.5m in value
· Opportunity to work on high-profile, city-shaping infrastructure schemes

Location, working pattern and progression
· Based in Liverpool with projects across the city
· A working pattern combining site presence with office and flexible working where appropriate
· Clear opportunities for career progression into senior planning or wider project controls roles as the framework develops
This role is ideal if you are a Senior Planner who wants to stay close to site, influence delivery decisions and build long-term career security on a major highways programme.
