Job description
Highways & Drainage Engineer
We are seeking a Highways & Drainage Engineer to join a growing team in Bristol.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of a variety of highways and infrastructure projects, preparing preliminary and detailed designs for highways, drainage, and related works. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical skills, liaise with clients and authorities, and contribute to project delivery from concept through to completion.
In this role, you will:
·Prepare preliminary and detailed highway designs, S278 and S38 drawings, including drainage layouts and calculations.
·Liaise with highway authorities and other stakeholders to gain approvals.
·Assist senior engineers and project managers in the delivery of projects.
·Attend project meetings (virtual and in-person) with team members and clients.
·Undertake site visits and surveys to support design work.
This position would suit someone who has:
·A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
·Experience in highways and/or drainage design.
·Competence with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroDrainage (or similar software).
·Knowledge of relevant design standards such as DMRB, Traffic Signs Manual, TSRGD and SUDS hierarchy.
·Experience contributing to project delivery and communicating with clients and stakeholders.
·A commitment to meeting deadlines and producing high-quality work.
