Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highway Coordinator to come and join a busy client in the Manchester area.

The main duties of the experienced Highway Coordinator are:

  • Support the Planned Maintenance Team within Highways to deliver carriageway resurfacing and treatments.
  • Facilitate and manage permits for planned maintenance works (training provided; prior experience desirable).
  • Provide timely, clear, and technically accurate responses to the planned maintenance inbox, liaising with contractors and communicating effectively with residents.
  • Deliver high-quality, customer-focused technical services in line with policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
  • Support and manage technical projects, initiatives, or work packages to meet legislative and corporate objectives.
  • Apply technical knowledge to design and implement effective, customer-focused solutions.
  • Assess feasibility of projects/work packages and ensure compliance with procedures, legislation, and high-quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships through effective communication and negotiation.
  •  Identify issues in assigned work, make recommendations, and drive process improvements.
  • Ensure work complies with service level agreements, safe working practices, and health & safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce reports using management information systems.
  • Manage assigned resources, including staff (direct or matrix-managed), finances, or equipment, to improve service delivery.
  • Commit to personal development and continuous improvement in service delivery.
