Are you an experienced Health & Safety Manager who has worked within Manufacturing, Water Treatment or Pharmaceutical environments and is looking for a fresh challenge and new opportunity?

Carrington West are pleased to announce an exciting new role with our client who are leading water treatment specialist both within the UK and international markets. They are looking for an experienced H&S Manager to lead and shape their health and safety department.

About you

You will be responsible for ensuring the company's policies, procedures and standards governing the quality, safety and environment deliver a safe place to work, high customer satisfaction and continuous business improvement. At times you will be required to provide project management support to both internal and external project delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a strong level of experience in H&S roles, a good working understanding of ISO quality management systems and will be an effective manager able to lead and drive H&S performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure safe system of work is in place and adhered to by all staff, contractors and visitors to site.
  • Encourage reporting of observations, incidents and accidents with follow-up investigation and action to improve.
  • Create and review task risk assessments and Permit to Work system.
  • Provide point of focus for any crisis/emergency response.
  • Implement and maintain a Continuous Business Improvement programme.
  • Undertake Internal Audits.
  • Maintain quality, safety and environmental systems; implement and audit to achieve compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH certification
  • IOSH membership
  • ISO auditor
  • Ideally experience of working in an OEM manufacturing environment
  • Previous water industry experience would be beneficial but not essential
  • UK driving licence
