Job description
GRADUATE - FLOOD RISK
My client is looking for a Graduate Flood Risk Engineer to join their team in Bedford.
Key Responsibilities
·Assist in the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and Drainage Strategy Reports for planning submissions.
·Assist with the preparation of drainage strategy drawings
·Assist with hydraulic modelling and drainage calculations
·Support the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and calculations for planning applications.
·Contribute to site appraisals, including reviewing flood maps, soil data, and planning constraints.
·Liaise with internal/external project teams and other stakeholders
·Assist with drainage design submissions for planning and discharge of conditions
·Undertake other duties as required to support the engineering team's project delivery
Requirements
·Civil Engineering degree or a related discipline.
·Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD software.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
·Keen interest in flood risk, drainage, and sustainable development.
·Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Desirable
·Some experience (e.g. through placement or internship) in flood risk or drainage design.
·Experience using Causeway Flow or similar hydraulic modelling software.
