Do you want to work for an engineering company that will give you exposure to a range of projects including TRU and HS2?

My client is a fast-growing engineering group with a growing work load. As a result, it is seeking a an engineer to join their geotechnical engineering team.

Salary: £27,000 to £40,0000 dependent on experience.

Location: York, 2 to 3 days in the office per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct geotechnical site investigations, including fieldwork, drilling, and sampling.
  • Collaborate with project teams to analyse soil and rock properties for rail infrastructure projects.
  • Utilise geotechnical logging software to record and manage geotechnical data efficiently.
  • Perform soil and rock testing in the laboratory to determine engineering properties.
  • Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports and engineering recommendations.
  • Assess slope stability, foundation design, and ground improvement techniques.
  • Assist in the development of innovative geotechnical solutions for rail design challenges.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to ensure project goals are met.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Relevant HNC or degree.
  • Good, practical health and safety awareness.
  • Field experience in a geotechnical related role.
  • Logging software experience.
  • Interest in self-development.
  • Full right to work in the UK and UK driving license.
