Job description

Our client is looking for an experience Geo-Environmental Engineer to join their team in Manchester.
 
The successful candidate will be delivering Phase I and Phase II Geo-Environmental Reports across numerous sectors.
 
The main duties of this role include:
- Contamination and geotechnical projects across the UK;
- Planning, undertaking and reporting on site investigations;
- Geotechnical Assessments of sites in relation to ground risk including; foundations, slope stability, settlement and treatment;
- Contamination Risk assessment of sites for varying end uses;
Production of Remediation Method Statements, undertaking validation and reporting on such works.
 
Technical Skills:
- Logging of soils to Eurocodes and BS5930
- Familiarity with analytical software such as EA R&D 20, RBCA, CLEA to derive site specific thresholds and clean-up criteria would be beneficial
- Familiarity with geotechnical software would be beneficial
- Interpretative reporting
- Experience of geotechnical investigation, design and reporting and the interaction with contamination issues would also be advantageous.
 
Requirements:
Education/Learning Experience
- You will possess a Degree in a related discipline
- Appropriate membership of a professional Institution.
- An MSc in an associated discipline would be desirable.
- You will be registered with an appropriate institution such as the Geological Society or Institute of Civil Engineers
 
Work Experience:
- Experience of undertaking Phase 1 and 2 assessments.
- Supervision of ground investigations.
- Experience of assessing ground risk and stability
- An awareness of appropriate remedial strategies and options including process-based methods
- Negotiations with local authorities and Environment Agency
- Validation work and associated reporting
- Self-motivated and able to manage own workload within agreed timescales

- Present a professional image to all clients and employees
- Willing to assist colleagues with other office tasks when necessary
