Job description

My client is seeking a General Foreman to join a major project in Somerset.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising all aspects of work (on and off main site) associated with the elements of the service that fall under them in accordance with the organisational structure.
 
Key responsibilities:
 
·To supervise the core team and sub-contractors allocated to their relevant service.
·Ensure all works being carried out are covered by a safe system of working, all the necessary briefings have been carried out and review/sign off POWRAs.
·Ensure sufficient working supervision of people working on site.
·Review Working Documentation to ensure the content of the documents are sufficient and relevant to the tasks to be carried out.
·Assist Site Agent with management and programming of works, and requirements for plant and materials.
·Responsible for plant delivery sign offs, audits and utilisation.
·Ensuring the required health, safety, well-being, environment and quality standards are maintained in all aspects of work delivered on site.
·Deliver and record Toolbox Talks, Stand Downs and Stand Ups when required.
·Ensure the correct SHEQ processes and procedures are followed and recorded (as per CQAP).
·Ensure the relevant Codes of Conduct are respected and followed within the site team. Lead by example to drive the correct behaviours.
·Completion of return to Work and employee documentation as and when required.
·Drive and Implement Innovation ideas.
·Liaise with Client on daily basis on progress and problem solving.
·Attend progress meeting when required.
·To ensure the highest possible Health, Safety & Environmental standards are employed across the service, adhering to Milestone & NNB health and safety policy/ environmental policy and actively supporting the Behavioural Safety culture that is an integral part of the Milestone working environment and the Zero Harm initiative at HPC
·Completion of HSE Inspections.
 
Additional responsibilities are in accordance with the RACI Matrix.
 
What skills and experience do they need in order to be a success:
 
·In-depth civils construction knowledge
·Ability to understand technical specifications and drawings
·CSCS Card
·Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
·Managers and Professionals (CITB)
·ILM Level 3 Certificate (and nuclear unit) to be completed within 6 months of starting
·NVQ Level 3 Occupational Work Supervision
·Effective Communication skills
·Basic IT skills
