Our client are seeking a Fleet Manager who will be responsible for effectively and continuously managing the transport activities of both their busy field teams and all other associated vehicles, ensuring that all drivers and the Company, are operating safely and compliantly.
 
The company are based in MIlton Keynes, but they are open to flexible working arrangements outside of important/essential meetings at their offices.
 
The successful candidate will maintain a fleet in the region of approx. 250 vehicles, with further growth of the fleet expected as the role progresses.
 
MAIN DUTIES
 
·Making arrangements to ensure that drivers comply with all legislations, policies and procedures surrounding safety, speed limits, and licenses.
 
·Making arrangements to ensure that the vehicles are maintained properly, including the inspection of vehicles at the appropriate time and the action taken to remedy defects found.
 
·Reporting and recording vehicle defects highlighted by drivers.
 
·Where appropriate, all prosecutions and convictions concerning the drivers, ensuring all drivers reimburse the Company for any fines payable on their behalf.
·Accurate compilation and management of all fleet records.
 
·Making arrangements to ensure effective monitoring and arranging of MOT's, services, tax and other legal and Company requirements takes place, including handling of V5 documents
·To maintain statistical reports, files and relevant records related to maintenance, repairs, depreciation, mileage, etc.
 
·Liaising with suppliers with regards to vehicle bookings, ensuring a prompt return.
 
·Monitoring the Vehicle usage in line with company
 
·Managing and driving cost efficiencies within the department - including fleet hire contracts and other services associated with the company's fleet
· 
·Liaising with other key stakeholders such as Payroll, Health & Safety, Insurers and Claims manager to help the business to maintain its excellent vehicle safety record.
 
·Effectively managing and coaching the fleet administrator and contributing to their professional development
 
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
 
·Previous Fleet Management experience
·The ability to supervise, coordinate and direct the work of their subordinates
·To communicate effectively, both written and orally
·To maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
·To analyse the requirements of any given situation and to take effective and corrective action
·Fully computer literate
 
This role is initially offered dona  12 month fixed-term contract, with extension or conversion to a permanent role a realistic possibility beyond this.
 
Based on experience, a salary equivalent of £40-£50k can be offered for the successful Fleet Manager.
