Salary: Up to £60,000 p/a depending on experience

Are you an Estimator with experience in the water/construction sector, looking for your next challenge? My client, an award-winning contractor on the Bristol Water framework, is looking for an Estimator to work alongside their Contracts Manager.


You will be working predominantly on clean & waste water projects but will be involved in other civil engineering projects too.
 
Your role will involve:
·Working closely with the Contracts Manager on the production of tenders and quotations for a variety of works including general concrete repairs, cathodic protection, resin injection, guniting, external wall insulation, cladding, deck waterproofing, plate bonding, specialist coatings, and other associated works and services
·Analysis of client's specification and contract conditions, bonds and warranties.
·Entering tender details & maintaining data records on CDS database system.
·Carrying out site visits.
·Pre-tender measurement and valuations.
·Pricing materials and plant requirements and compiling sub-contract enquiries and other quotations.
·Assessing labour requirements and costs.
·Compiling tender programmes using Microsoft Excel and Project.
·Obtaining competitive prices with suppliers.
·Carry out Tender Risk Management Procedures.
·Review of tenders prior to submission.
·Liaising with other members of the estimating team.
·Liaising with contract staff, clients & their representatives, sub-contractors & suppliers
·Advising and corresponding with clients including local authorities.
·Attending pre-contract meetings.
·Assisting in preparation of quality bid submissions.
·Production of alternative bids.
·Following tenders from initial enquiry through to receipt of orders.
·Carry out duties in accordance with Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality Management System.
·Complying with IMS procedures and relevant legislation.
 
Required Skills:
·Experience as an Estimator on clean or waste water projects is desirable, but Estimator experience in other construction environments will be considered.
·Proficient in Microsoft packages (including Project).
·Ability to work to target dates across multiple projects, whilst maintaining output and timescale requirements.
·Hold a valid full UK driving license.
·Eligible to work in the UK.
