Job description

Are you an experienced Environmental professional with a background in construction and a passion for hands-on work?

Are you looking for your next contract position?

Location: Suffolk
Rate: £350 a day umbrella
Contract length: 6 months with likely extensions

If you thrive in a site-based environment and are comfortable getting your boots on the ground, this could be the perfect opportunity. We're seeking someone with practical experience in site inspections and a knack for engaging with site teams, who is ready to make an immediate impact on a major infrastructure project. An environmental degree is ideal, but your extensive experience in the field is just as valuable.

Role and Responsibilities
This is your chance to play a key part in the Sizewell rail scheme, a vital project focused on delivering the main construction works more sustainably. By upgrading an existing railway and building new sidings, this initiative is taking traffic off the roads and championing a greener approach to large-scale construction.

As the new Environmental Advisor, you will be based full-time on-site, acting as a crucial point of contact for all environmental matters. Your day-to-day will involve getting out across the various sites, ensuring compliance with environmental permits, conducting noise and dust monitoring, and checking in with supervisors. You will attend daily meetings to report on observations and help resolve any environmental issues, while also being responsible for collecting data for monthly sustainability reports on water, energy, and plant usage.

Salary + Benefits
Benefit package
To ensure easy access to the various work locations, a minibus service is provided to transport you between the main office and the different sites, all of which are within a short drive.

Employment type
This is a full-time, 6-month contract role with the potential for extension as the project progresses. You'll be needed on-site to support the team's environmental commitments.
