Engineering Manager - Manchester

Location: Manchester
Salary: £70,000 - £85,000
Bonus: Up to 10% discretionary bonus
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Manager to join our team for the A57 Manchester project. In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic engineering and design management, demonstrating strong leadership and control over a multi-disciplinary team. Your expertise will ensure full design integration between all design disciplines, assessed for buildability during both the development and construction stages of the scheme. Additionally, you will facilitate strong links with other teams within and external to the project to ensure efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
·Support the overall engineering strategy for the business and BB clients.
·Engage with the Supply Chain, Clients, Designers, and other framework Delivery Partners to maximize knowledge sharing and provide efficiencies that assist National Highways in achieving the National Highways Roads Delivery Programme.
·Utilize engineering team specialists to provide on-site training for new recruits and site engineers.
·Oversee the management of design teams and engineering support function teams.
·Coordinate Design and Temporary works design.
·Provide technical support to the project team, resolving complex technical problems promptly.
·Identify and champion lessons learned to ensure continual improvement in the business.
·Maintain a detailed understanding of highways design details and temporary works.
·Consider buildability aspects at all times during design reviews.
Requirements:
·Extensive experience overseeing the management of design teams and engineering support functions.
·Proficient in Design Coordination and Temporary works design.
·Capable of providing technical support and resolving complex technical issues promptly.
·A strong advocate for continual improvement, identifying and implementing lessons learned.
·Thorough understanding of highways design details and temporary works.
·Construction experience to ensure buildability aspects are always considered during design reviews.
