Electrical Project Engineer
Long term contract
£375-£425 per day

Are you an experience electrical engineer in the water sector in the UK and looking for a new role?
 
Have you got experience with managing the engineering of large single projects or multiple smaller projects?
 
If you have recent, tier 1 experience in delivering projects as an engineer from an electrical bias and based within a commutable distance to the Cheshire region then this is the role for you.
 
My client is looking for a candidate with water sector experience from mainly a delivery background rather than design.
 
The Electrical Project Engineer shall be responsible for the following deployed individual sites or across a programme of projects, as required by the role:  
 
·Outline engineering from inception to completion of schemes utilising in-house resources, site installation and construction personnel 
·The timely completion of projects, batches and programmes of work, safely and within budget 
·Supporting delivery / redeployment to other projects or requirements across the M&E business as required from time to time 
·Implementation and contribution to programme-wide standardisation and engineering initiatives 
·Supporting Electrical Lead in the identification and implementation of technical innovation 
·Contribution to strategic procurement strategy 
·Contribution to development of and development of MEICA systems, processes and procedures to support programme requirements 
·Development of procurement strategy and managing and reporting of procurement package progress 
·Liaising with the client's engineering and operations staff  
·Attending internal and external review and progress meetings 
·Ascertaining preliminary and detailed design/project requirements and solutions 
·Preparation of estimates and quotations, including cross-discipline liaison for completion 
·Completing contract documentation 
·Managing site safety, health and environmental issues 
·Co-ordinating and liaising with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, in-house functions, site installations and construction teams 
· 
Attending planning meetings and populating the site lookahead programme with the necessary daily activities, supported by the Electrical Site Supervisor and Commissioning Engineer input 
 
The Electrical Project Engineer shall review and comment on the following: 
·Data Sheets 
·Load schedules 
·Instrument schedules 
·Interlock schedules 
·PEAZ study and zone drawings 
·Single Line Diagrams 
·HV design and calculations 
·Emergency stop risk assessments 
·Lightning and earthing designs 
·Lighting designs 
·Electrical and ICA commissioning methodologies 
·Below ground cable routing 
·MCC schedules 
·Loop diagrams 
·Earthing Protection Studies 
·DNO power requirements 
Temporary and enabling works 
 
·Procurement of plant, materials and specialist subcontractors 
·Supporting the development, monitoring and updating of programme of work 
·Populating the ITP Workbook and maintaining this as a currently reflection of whole project inspection and testing completeness 
·Attending/undertaking factory site and works testing, commissioning and client training 
·Establishing and agreeing price variations and final accounts with subcontractors, suppliers and client 
·Co-ordinating across disciplines and with other project engineers / leads on standardisation and template design implementation 
·Progress reporting via digital applications as required
